Moussaoui Asks for New Trial

Via Breitbart:

Less than a week after he was jailed for life over the September 11 attacks, Al-Qaeda plotter Zacarias Moussaoui submitted a motion asking to withdraw his guilty plea so he can have a new trial.

Ummm, isn't it a little late? This does make me wonder though, maybe he was really trying to get the death penalty (ala martyrdom), and now that he didn't get it, he's panicking. I'd like to think so...

"Moussaoui wishes to withdraw his guilty plea because when he entered the plea his 'understanding of the American legal system was completely flawed'," his lawyers said in the motion.

His understanding was flawed...Uh, isn't that what his lawyers were for? Am I missing something here. I foresee bad things man, bad things...

The "flawed" part of his understanding of our law is that he took all Americans to be blood thirsty animals who would surely martyr him. He's SHOCKED that there our system does work sometimes. He got a fair trial and the jury had mercy on him.
