More Cowbell! Economy Up 5.6%!
Shhh, wouldn't want to alert the Mainstream Media.
What's thier headline? "Economy grows, but may be cooling." Well, DUH! It's down to 3% growth, which as we all know, is HORRIBLE. What? It's not? That's actually not half bad, you say? Darn you Karl Rove, you tricky, tricky white boy!

US Stands Up to the UN on Second Amendment
Here, here!
The UN has been trying to make global gun control laws for years, and the US is pretty much the only one standing up to them. I only hope we can continue to keep a delegation at the UN that will remain on our side. Good on ya, Mr. Joseph!
A remarkable thing happened at the United Nations yesterday. We, the United States, told the world “no”. The messenger was Robert Joseph, the Undersecretary of State for Arms Control and International Security. Speaking before the dozens of nations that have gathered for the review conference on Small Arms and Light Weapons, Joseph told the world in no uncertain terms where the United States stood.
“The U.S. Constitution guarantees the rights of our citizens to keep and bear arms, and there will be no infringement of those rights,” he proclaimed to the dignitaries and functionaries. “The United States will not agree to any provisions restricting civilian possession, use or legal trade of firearms inconsistent with our laws and practices.”

Light Blogging
Welp, blogging will be very light for the next week or so, as we are in Alaska (or will be tomorrow). You can check my wife's blog for updates. I know, you're thinking, "GreatMoose, how can your blogging be even lighter than it is now? Won't that create a rip in the space-time continuum?" Rest assured, dear reader(s), the universe is safe, as I will return to blogging soon.

Couple Sues Home Depot for Wrecking Thier Sex Life
I don't know what to say:
So we sue the store because the product is bad. I guess Home Depot has deeper pockets...
Personally, I'd ask for more than a million, but whatever.
A couple is suing Home Depot and the manufacturers of a grout sealing product for $111 million _ including a $1 million claim that the product destroyed their sex life.

The couple is seeking $100 million in punitive damages, $10 million for injuries and $1 million for harm to their love life.

Some More Movie Stuff
First, we have one of the new Clerks II posters (the better of the three, I think):
Next, Disney/Pixar's Ratatouille has an english trailer now, starring Patton Oswald (yes, THE Patton Oswald. You may know him as 'Spence' from King Of Queens):
From Apple.com Ratatouille
Looks FANTASTIC!! Should be a lot of fun. So far, Pixar is 6/6 for successful movies, and this should be great as well.

Abu Al-Zarqawi: Abu Al- DEAD!!
It's a good day (via Drudge/APnews):
He was dispatched with 1,000lbs of high-explosive justice. I can't find what squadron the F-16s were from, but when I do, I'll post a tribute.
This is a tremendous victory for our guys (and our nation). Of course, all the MSM can talk about today is "Brangelina's" baby pictures. I'm SO TIRED of hearing about that STUPID BABY!! I think I feel a kidney stone coming on...
And how! Oh, I forgot, we're in a quagmire. Giggity.
Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the al-Qaida leader in Iraq who waged a bloody campaign of suicide bombings and beheadings of hostages, has been killed in a precision airstrike, U.S. and Iraqi officials said Thursday. It was a long-sought victory in the war in Iraq.

"Al-Zarqawi was eliminated," Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said.

Eat a Cookie, Get Suspended. Yeah, Makes Sense.
An 8th-grader in Virginia got suspended for one day and kicked off the baseball team for, get this, EATING A STAFF MEMBERS COOKIE. Yessir, Zero Tolerance is the way to go:
RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - A Henrico County eighth-grader was suspended from school for a day and kicked off the baseball team for eating a staff member's cookie.
Jeremy Maitland was in the Hungary Creek Middle School kitchen one day last month filling a water cooler for a baseball game. Caryl Maitland says her son told school officials that he ate a cookie after someone knocked over a cookie jar and he tried to pick them up.
She says the family received a letter from the assistant principal telling them the cookies were a staff member's personal food. Jeremy was disciplined under the school's theft code.
The boy's mother says she understands the boy had to be disciplined, but she says eating a cookie and taking someone's laptop computer should not warrant the same punishment. They've appealed the suspension.
Superintendent Fred Morton declined to discuss specifics but added that he reviewed the case and found the school's decision reasonable.
Of course, the staff member in question was this guy:

I Have the Greatest Wife in the World!
So, we went to Diamonback's last night (best steaks in town, BTW), and celebrated our anniversary. I had the Green Peppercorn Filet (Port wine/peppercorn sauce). It was like BUTTER! Excellent meal. We finished it off with the Chocolate Bag desert (pics to come later). There are no words to describe it. Anyway, here is what my wonderful wife got me. I got such a kick out of it, I laughed for a good ten minutes. Anyway, since 5 years is supposed to be wood:
